Sunset bistro has great food and friendly staff and atmosphere! The mushroom Swiss burgers are outstanding!
Took my folks to this little Gem of a Mediterranean bistro! They Both loved the Philly steak sandwich and complimented the chef for perfectly sautéing the onions and green bell peppers. The hoagie bread was light and toasted perfectly.
Recently got to try Sunset Bistro out in Sun City and let me tell you they are definitely worth the trip. The gyro is generously loaded with meat and is ABSOLUTELY amazing. Definitely try the Chicken curry soup as well. Lisa is a great host and will treat you like family. Sunset Bistro is one of the hidden gems of the valley.
Update May 2025: I like that they have specials each day, so I went on Liver and Onions Night. Hadn't had that in a long time and it was tasty especially since it had bacon strips as a topper (see pic). Next time I'll get the side salad instead though since the vegetables seemed to be those medleys from the frozen foods section but their side salads were always on target.
Stopped by on a Sunday evening. One friendly waitress was working and were greeted when we walked in, told to choose a table. Received menus shortly after and our orders were taken. Salad arrived soon after followed by our meals. Food that should have been hot was. All in all a pleasant experience and will be back. Sorry it has taken us a year since moving to the area to try it.
The falafal. Gyros, chicken kabob, chicken Alfredo snd lentil soup all amazing. Great service. Enjoyed all of it.
Walleye on Fridays! I'm from the Midwest and really missed a good walleye dinner. But not anymore! This is the place to get my walleye fix! Perfect amount of breading, not too much or too little. Great baked potato and coleslaw too. It's very small inside. Friendly service. Alcohol is available, including mixed drinks and tap beer. I've also dined here on other days throughout the week and have enjoyed the gyros and chicken shawarma - if you get the shawarma, expect to bring home leftovers, which are great the next day if reheated stovetop! Updated with a picture of the chicken feta strawberry salad, served with raspberry vinaigrette, so good!!
We favor Mediterranean food, so we’ve tried most all of them within 45 minutes of our home, and I can say, without reservation, Sunset Bistro has the best Chicken Shawarma and Lentil Soup…period. Not that there aren’t others that are good, but the consistency and quality at Sunset Bistro is outstanding. The wait staff is always helpful and efficient. Just a good, unassuming, casual place to visit. Lots of other good stuff on the menu as well.
